Ny Tanintsika team is constantly striving to teach and communicate to the people in our project areas all the tips and precautions they should take to prevent and combat the #COVID19 pandemic.

Special attention is paid to training water management committees & water infrastructure users in additional #COVID19 protocol at the hundreds of boreholes and tap-stands that Ny Tanintsika – Feedback Madagascar have installed over the years. Whilst clean water is essential for hygiene & hand-washing for prevention, these communal water points also put communities at risk of virus transmission through cross-contamination & congestion. Ensuring the organisation of hand-washing with soap before entering the borehole area & respecting of social distancing are amongst key measures promoted.

Signs & posters showing with messaging on how the virus spreads and its symptoms, disinfection of public spaces and distributing hand washing tools are amongst Ny Tanintsika-Feedback Madagascar’s response strategies.
12 municipalities in the Haute Matsiatra, Vatovavy Fitovinany and Amoron’i Mania regions are benefiting from this initiative. Here we see students at Tanakambana Secondary School (built by NT-FBM)’s borehole applying the new water point protocol.
